When I attended this school I loved everything about it. I was involved in FFA and ROTC both taught me a lot. Teachers and staff was very caring. Great High School to attend.

This high school is definitely a demanding one . A lot more strict than you would imagine a regular public high school would be . They have some silly rules but the kids were always kept in line . and i know if i went to any regular school that didn’t demand as much i probably wouldn’t be as successful

My experience with Harlingen South is that the academics and the ability to take courses that would help our college years are very budget friendly, such as the TSI assessments which are free and the AP test which we pay 20$ out of the 98$ and don’t have to pay the rest as long as we go to tutorials. One of the bad things is how they go so far to for example make sure that the students don’t have phones on in class even if the teacher allows it, as the administration will walk into the class rooms and if someone is on their phone they will take it and have a $15 fine to pick up the phone and the bookkeeper doesn’t stay for long after only about half an hour, and that’s the only time parents can pick it up.

I have had a pretty good experience at Harlingen South so far. A good part of this school is the amount of college readiness available. There is a college and career room that anyone can go to. I would also say that they have a lot of field trips to certain colleges which helps students get a feel for a college they're interested in. A bad part of the school is the quality of food they provide. I would say it is edible, but I feel as if it could be better to improve the quality of the student life. However, I would say my school is better than average and has definitely taught me important lessons.

Being at Harlingen High School South is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I have made so many friends and it is truly the best school. The whole administration is very kind and are truly the best.

Harlingen South High School has a bright and joyous school culture. The coaches for every sport are supportive and welcoming to all. They will push you to be the best version of yourself and will help you achieve your goals.

The best part of my experience at south is the community. All the teachers are very kind and supportive and work to make sure every student is getting a first class education. The worst part about my experience at south is the dress code. I do agree that a dress code has to take place, but girls getting dress coded for wearing leggings is a bit much. I hope to see change about the harsh strict rules on GIRLS dress code

I really enjoyed the school spirit during pep rallies and football games. However, the faculty and staff were not helpful and often rude. I was part of the volleyball team and experienced mistreatment from both the coach and other team members. I often got sick during practices and was bullied, but nothing was done about it. The coach ignored the situation and I felt like I was just a number on the team instead of a valued student.

Overall, the energy surrounding the school is very positive as it has great teachers, athletic programs, and clubs. I had a great experience and I really enjoyed the challenge that the school offered in terms of academic abilities, since the standard is placed higher than other schools. However, I would like to see an improvement in administration concerning support and listening to their students.

Overall Harlingen High School South is a good high school. I had a good experience with the students and teachers. The staff members were always helpful. I know high school isn’t the same for everyone, but my experience went well. They are strict about rules, which includes dress code and use of schools.

I really appreciate the strong commitment to ensuring students' success in the future, however, with the constantly changing policies regarding absences, dress code, and even how we use the bathroom, there are definitely moments when the school feels like a prison.

A warm welcoming and growing enviroment. I've spent 3 years at this school and got to grow closer to teachers and staff. I have also created my best memories at this campus.

I liked the experience that I was able to have there. Though there are some changes that are easy to change like the dress code. The dress code is very strict compared to other schools in Harlingen. This is a simple thing that has been deliberated for years now, but there has been no change. Clothes are a big part of expressing themselves and a code is very restricting.

What I liked the most was how the teachers treated everyone. They were super nice and they made everyone understand everything pretty easily. They were also understanding when kids had problems with school and anything outside of it. The administration was excellent as well. There was never any problems I had.
